The weather is cool but not crisp and clean. It is definitely not Oregon. But for now, it is home for the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team Soldiers serving in Iraq.

Wonderful news! I got layed over in Atlanta because my flight from Kuwait was late and I missed my flight to Chicago. Of course the rest of the flights out for the day were booked… I was hoping to spend my first night back in the states by myself out of town…

US military deaths in Afghanistan region at 849 (AP via Yahoo! News) November 28, 2009

As of Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at least 849 members of the U.S. military had died in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan as a result of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in late 2001, according to the Defense Department. The department last updated its figures Friday at 10 a.m. EST.
